Ayahuasca

What is Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis Caapi), comes from two Kichwa words: Aya which means life or dead and huasca which means vine or rope. Mother Ayahuasca is a master plant known for her sacred knowledge and grows naturally in the Amazon rainforest. Her spirit has guided many first nation cultures all along the amazon region for thousands of years. She cleanses and heals the mind, body, and soul, while increasing positive energy, mindful action, and clear view.

How is Ayahuasca prepared?

The Ayahuasca plant is harvested with respect and best during the afternoon.  We humbly ask permission before harvesting, blow Mapacho (sacred tobacco), and sing to her. The plant is cooked over natural fire in water with the leaves of Challipanga plant (Diploterys cabrerana). The medicine remains at a high heat for 3 to 5 hours, until we have a high concentration and then the vines and leaves are removed from the brew. The remaining medicine is left on a low heat for 30 minutes more and thereafter is ready for the ceremony. Come and see for yourself!

Ceremonies

Our one night Ayahuasca ceremony includes the sacred medicine, the Limpia (sacred healing), lodging for one night, and breakfast. Other activities can be requested and customized for the time you stay. This can be booked by request.
